Whether you’re tackling noisy neighbours, reducing unwanted echo in a communal space, or building a home studio, we’ll guide you to the best solution.
Questions that we often get asked…
Costs depend on:
As a ballpark, soundproofing a standard 4 m × 2.4 m wall might cost £750–£1,250 including materials, delivery and VAT (excluding labour).
Soundproofing / sound insulation is about preventing noise traveling through walls, ceilings, or floors.
Sound absorption reduces echo and reverberation within a room, improving the acoustics and clarity of speech but doesn’t block sound between rooms.
Soundproofing reduces the transmission of noise between rooms or from outside. It works by adding mass, damping vibration, decoupling and isolating structural connections, and insulating cavities.
Yes. Sound will always find a weak point or gap, so the full area needs treatment. Including edges, sockets and perimeters.
The amount of space soundproofing adds to a wall depends on the system used and the level of noise reduction required. For example, our ReductoClip Independent Clip System is the thinnest isolation clip and bar system on the market and adds 120 mm.
The ReductoClip Direct to Wall System takes up 60 mm. For an even slimmer option, direct-to-wall soundproofing panels such as SoundBoard 4 are ideal for stud walls or situations where space constraints don’t allow for the ReductoClip System on brick walls, adding just 30 mm.
We always aim to provide the best balance between sound performance and wall thickness.
